Cement Grinding Aid (CGA) — Boost Mill Output 10–20%, Chloride-Free

A cement grinding aid (CGA) is a liquid or powder additive dosed at 0.02–0.08% by cement weight during grinding to reduce particle agglomeration, increase mill output by 10–20%, and improve strength development in OPC, PPC and slag cement — without adding chloride.

What Is a Cement Grinding Aid & How It Works

A grinding aid coats clinker particles during grinding to prevent re-agglomeration on mill internals, lowering the energy needed per ton of cement while increasing mill throughput and fineness control.

How to Dose a Cement Grinding Aid

  1. 01 Run a lab trial to establish baseline Blaine fineness and mill output.
  2. 02 Select dosage in the 0.02–0.08% range by cement weight based on cement type.
  3. 03 Load via metering pump (liquid) or feeder (powder) at the mill inlet.
  4. 04 QC check: verify Blaine fineness, output rate and 3/7/28-day strength gain.

Frequently Asked Questions

What dosage of cement grinding aid should I use?

Typical dosage ranges from 0.02% to 0.08% by cement weight, depending on cement type, mill type and target output gain. A lab trial confirms the optimal rate for your clinker.

Does the grinding aid contain chloride?

No. All grades are chloride-free, making them safe for reinforced concrete and steel-embedded applications.

Is grinding aid the same as a quality improver?

No. A grinding aid primarily boosts mill output and fineness during grinding, while a quality improver focuses on later strength and workability gains.

Does grinding aid affect setting time?

Standard dosages have negligible impact on initial and final setting time; our TDS lists setting time data for each grade at recommended dosage.

What packaging options are available?

Liquid grades ship in IBC totes or drums; powder grades in bags. Bulk tanker delivery available for large orders.

What is the MOQ and lead time?

MOQ starts at 1 IBC/drum for sample orders; standard lead time is 7–15 days depending on grade and destination.
